Lucky Tortoise Pop-Up Restaurant

I had the absolute joy of going for Mother's Day dinner in the Lucky Tortoise.  My little unconventional family spent the evening devouring dumpling after dumpling and all the rest of the menu, which suited everyone from my 20 year old son, to my partners 9 and 6 year old boys, to us (slightly) older folk.

We were welcomed by the lovely Thom who seated us quickly and explained the menu.  The food we took the all in option at €25 each. There were chicken dumplings, lamb dumplings, char siu bao (a sweet pork dumpling that I have not been able to find in Dublin before), cripsy, steamed, pot stickers, all styles were there. And a spicy kimchee that was awesome, if a little to much for the littlies' palates. We also had delicious glazed chicken wings, which the 9 and 6 year old devoured.  And so much more.

As it was Mother's Day, Thom was sweet and insisted that the children's food was complimentary.  We went home with very happy bellies indeed.

The Lucky Tortoise is open in the The Hill in Ranelagh on Sundays and in Eat Yard in Portobello on Thursday to Sunday evenings.
