The Handmaid's Tale

'Utterly terrifying' and 'excellent'. These are the things that I say when people ask me what I think about The Handmaid's Tale; it is compelling viewing.  I love a good dystopic fantasy, and this is chillingly good.  As a Margaret Atwood fan, I had not yet read The Handmaid's Tale, but it has been on my bookshelf and reading list for 15 years.  I knew just enough and I think there as a subconscious awareness that I would find it too plausible.  So I sat down with a mixture of trepidation, excitement, hope, and without the baggage of comparing the novel to the book. I was not disappointed.
